Our Kitchen Measurement Guide
It is important to have your renovation designs and implementation plans ironed out before installing any appliances or fixtures. Before ordering, ensure to have your kitchen measure out. Prepare a tape measure, graph paper, and pencil and follow these preset steps:
- Draw out the space using plain paper (not to scale) at this point. Then, take in all aspects of the walls, electrical outlets, water and gas lines, doorways, windows, and other openings.
- Review the lighting details and if any lights need to be moved to a new location.
- Measure the walls, windows, doors, appliances, and countertops in inches. Then, take measurements from the floor to the ceiling. Ensure the flooring is level.
Now, Let's Start:
Step 1: Using graph paper, measure and make a sketch of the layout and design of the wall. Pay attention to the location of power outlets, water, and gas supply lines. Please note that the measurements should be in inches to 1/8 of an inch.
Step 2: Details are key, so ensure to include cabinets that may need fillers, as well as the refrigerator, dishwasher, and over doors.
Step 3: Measure the space between the top of the countertop to the bottom of the wall cabinet and take a picture with different angles. This is important when placing any small appliance like a coffee maker on the counter.
